New kit pt3

More new kit before I could even post anything else interesting.

I had decided to spend no more money for a little while. Working in a camera shop and not spending money is hard work though... sooo many temptations!




I splurged and purchased a Sigma 2x teleconverter for my 120-300 2.8 making it a 240-600 5.6 lens; perfect for birding and hopefully will be useful at air shows next year.

Any lens that measures in at nearly half a meter is going to get heads turning, when I was last shooting this without the converter I got a lot of attention so I expect no less when I'm out next with it. It's not for the faint of heart, and really is a specialised lens and not the sort of thing you take out for the day, it weighs a tun and there's no way to look inconspicuous with this out!
